My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in April. This came as a shock as we do not have a family history of cancer, and my mom is otherwise very healthy. She was told right away that it was caught early. This news was comforting to us all, however, we were still all very concerned of course. I had been missing my family for quite some time and I really wanted to spend Mother’s Day with my own mom. So, Aleeya and I decided to drive to WA and surprise her! She always worries about us driving so I thought it would be nice to just show up and surprise her, so she wouldn’t spend one minute worrying about us on the road. It was the first time in years that all four of us kids, along with our parents, were together for Mother’s Day. I know my mom loved having us all together on her special day.
Aleeya and I had a great time in the car on the way there and back. Lots of visiting can be done in the ten hour drive each way. It was great. And I got to spend time with my family and love on my nieces and nephews for a while.
It was sure a great trip! And boy howdy, was my mom ever surprised! We got the best reaction out of her and I think we were all teared up at the excitement!
