This past weekend was a fun one! We made caramel apples, caramel popcorn balls, had a family movie night (minus Aleeya who was at a friend’s house), hung out at home, got the house clean (ok, that part wasn’t fun but it was fun after it was done), went to church and listened to a good message, and I ended it with a good workout followed by sitting in the steam room and hot tub with a friend…I’d like a repeat next weekend, please 🙂
The girls and I went to Rite Aid and I saw this hilarious HUGE Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. Oh my goodness, you really can’t tell how big it is in the picture. No, we did not buy it…but I wanted to buy it for my blog friend Kyetra who I’m sending a Cara Box to and those are her favorite…but it was $15 and I didn’t want that to be her only gift 🙂
We played in the Halloween isle…this is what happens when you live in a small town and there’s no other stores to go to but Rite Aid…and I’m not kidding.
Yeah, so this one of me (above) is 100% ridiculous, I know. I texted it to Bryson and later asked why he didn’t respond and he just looked at me and said, “Mom, there were no words to even say”. True enough, big guy.
We got all we needed for the caramel apples and the caramel popcorn balls and headed home. I had one excited 9-year-old for the fall “festivities”!
Macy was, as is the case a lot lately, my biggest helper. She is still at the age where all this is super fun and exciting, bless her little heart. Bryson helped for 14 seconds and Aleeya helped for maybe 16 seconds. They each opened one caramel…not kidding. They did, however, enjoy the end products with us!
I wish I could tell you the apples stayed perfect like that…but in reality, the caramel dripped and all the candy ended up at the bottom. No worries, they tasted delicious and we just cut them up instead of eating them on a stick. The popcorn balls were delicious. Now it’s time to call the dentist and see the damage I did to my children’s teeth.
We then watched Barnyard (so funny!) and later that evening we watched The Hobbit. I gotta say, I hated it. Sorry, but I did. Brysons’ friend Tianna came over and when they asked to leave and go do something else one hour into the three-hour movie, I was thanking my lucky stars and would have agreed to let him go anywhere so we could turn it off. Maybe I just wasn’t in the mood, or maybe I just didn’t pay attention to the beginning when they explained everything. Either way, I didn’t like it.
The only part of the movie I enjoyed was when sweet Macy and I did our nails. We even got all fancy and put beads on some of them. Check hers out (above).
We ended the weekend writing letters to our blog friends…the girls have new “penpals”. They are the daughters of my friend, Merry, who I did a Cara Box exchange with in August. I love her, she is the sweetest!
All in all, it was a fantastic weekend. Thanks David and kids for being great this weekend 🙂
